Free detailing price calculator and price list maker
Tell it what you want to earn per hour, how long each service takes, and what the products cost. It works out a price for every vehicle size, then turns the prices into a price list you can print, save as a picture, or send to customers. It is free, needs no sign-up, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
1. Your numbers
What you want to earn for each hour of work.
Fuel and drive time for one job. Use 0 to leave it out.
2. Vehicle sizes
The smallest size is your base. Set how much longer and how much more product the bigger sizes need. 125% means a quarter more.
3. Your services
For each service, enter the hours it takes and the product it uses on your smallest vehicle. The starting rows are examples. Change them to your own.
Your price list
Show how each price was worked out
Price = hours x your hourly pay + product + travel, plus card fees if ticked, rounded up. "You earn" is what is left per hour after product, travel, and card fees.
How the prices are worked out
- Labor: the hours a service takes on that vehicle, times the hourly pay you want.
- Product: what the soap, polish, and other supplies cost for that job.
- Travel: the fuel and drive time for one job, if you count it.
- Card fees: optional. The calculator adds enough to cover them so the price you charge is the money you keep.
- Rounding: always up, never down, so you never end up below the pay you asked for.
Bigger vehicles take longer and use more product, so they get a higher price. That keeps your hourly pay the same on a truck as on a coupe.
Using your price list
- Print it or save it as a PDF for your van, your table at an event, or an email.
- Download the picture and post it, or send it in a text.
- Download the spreadsheet to keep your numbers or edit them in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Check your prices against what detailers near you charge before you publish them. These prices come only from your own numbers.
Questions
How much should I charge for a car detail?+
Start from what you want to earn per hour, then add the time each job takes and the product it uses. This calculator does that math for each vehicle size. Then look at what detailers near you charge. If your number is far from theirs, check your time and product costs before you change your rate.
Why charge more for bigger vehicles?+
A truck or a three-row SUV takes more time and uses more product than a coupe. If you charge one price for every vehicle, you earn less on the big ones. A price for each size keeps your hourly pay the same on every job.
Should I add card fees to my prices?+
That is up to you. With the box ticked, the calculator adds enough to cover Stripe's standard card fee (2.9% plus 30 cents) so you keep the amount you asked for even when a customer pays by card. Your own processor may charge a different rate.
Where do my numbers go?+
Nowhere. The calculator runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us or saved on our servers. Your numbers are kept on your own device so they are still there next time. Clear your browser data to remove them.
Are these prices what the market charges?+
No. They come only from the numbers you enter. The starting rows are examples to edit, not market prices. Use the result as your floor, the least you should charge to earn what you want.
How do I use these prices in Morium?+
